Brrrr Winter Style Guide.. Part 1

Well well well what a weekend hey, on Friday I was still wearing my cropped black leather jacket still feeling smug & warm. On Saturday it was warmer out than it was in, & I took delight in warming up in the Sun- Still in my cropped leather jacket. On Saturday night I had to get my faux fur on & get my ass out of the door, much to my disappointment I wasn’t too hot wearing it, much winter coat of last year! Yesterday I was cold & wet most of the day and really felt like having a duvet day.
All this activity has confirmed in my mind that, sorry for saying it, winter is on its way. So put your cute little sandals, crop tops and rainbow dresses away. Some of the biggest trends for Autumn Winter 2012, are the oversized silhouette, Berry shades- Burgundies, Purples & Reds, Masculine styling/tailoring, and Black on Black- think fashion Goth =)

The fashion Goth look was seen on the Gucci Runway for Autumn Winter 2012, I love the combination of different materials to create depth & interest. This is a key element of doing the Black on Black trend, two black will never be exactly the same so why try to match them?!
Here is my “Wish List” for the Black on Black Trend from, and boutique that sell in shops all through the country and online.
1st on there is this STUNNING!!! Alexander McQueen Victorian Black Lace Jacquard Pencil Dress. I reckon you would feel like a million dollars wearing this. It is sexy yet feminine at the same time; I love the high neckline & the mix of different lace.

Another knock out from Alexander McQueen with this classic Sculpted Black Wool Crepe Coat, this has just been reduced as well! Check it out at
I would these brilliant YSL Tribute Black Patent Leather High Heel Patent Sandals. The Peep Toe Sandal is massive for Autumn Winter & is a classic design that will always look great. These would look great with jeans, dresses skirts, leggings or worn with socks! Amazing!
To complete the look I would finish with this Gucci stirrup brocade Black Leather Clutch Bag. I love everything about it! Stunning
So what do you think? Will you be trying the Black on Black trend this Autumn Winter?

Jubliee Style

Some good news to help everyone get through Monday, next week is the Jubilee weekend which means 4 Days of freedom and The Diamond Jubilee, there is only one other country, Thailand, that has had a monarch in power for longer that HRH, and that is only by 2 years. There is not better reason to celebrate, relax and to get the bunting out.
So what do you have planned for your 4 day weekend? Street party, BBQ, Nights out? Here is my guide on what to wear for the Jubliee weekend.
1.Street Party

Street parties are fun, colouful and lively events so this outfit is perfect. The skirt is bold and bright worn with a patterned oversized top it looks great! For the hair I have just loosely curled and the pulled to oneside and clipped in place using hair pins, very quick and easy just how I like it.
2. BBQ’s
BBQ= lots of food, sun (hopefully) and Pimms/Beer. Which means denim shorts and sleeveless top to get a great all over tan. The above look is also great if you decide, as my friend and I normally do, that we do want to go out at 11pm and don’t have time to change or can’t be bothered, this will look great worn out. Perfect, just watch out for the ketchup!
3. Out Out.
Your going out out and you want to wear something special. This flapper style dress is perfect, it looks great with falts or heels and the sequins catch the light. Sooo pretty!
4. Just Out

If your just nipping down the pub then this oversized leopard print top is perfect. Wear with shorts or jeans.

Blooming Marvelous….

Birmingham’s Entry at Chelsea Flowers Show 2012

Not only is the sun shining and everyone is smiling but Chelsea Flower show is in full swing. A big trend for spring summer 2012 are floral prints, from tee’s to trousers all the way back to Hawaiian Shirts, florals are huge. If you like to stand out from the crowd then don’t hold back and go head to toe, if your looking for something a bit more understated then a pretty dress or discreet top would work well.

Here are some styling ideas..

For a simple and elegant look this dress works wonders, it has a beautiful discreet floral strip print and mid length. I love it.

If you are feeling more daring this floral cropped jacket is perfect, its eye catching, colourful and perfect for summer.

This black floral dress is a smart casual dress suitable for work and the pub. With its double breasted fastening it is flattering and comfortable… Perfect.

This bold floral short sleeved dress is eye catching and pefect if you want to be noticed. Its also fun and very flattering.

A girls best friend…… Leather

Leather should be a staple in everyones wardrobe, a leather jacket is timeless and will never go out of fashion. But you don’t just have to stick to leather jackets anymore…. leather skirts are ” so hot” right now and how can you make them even “hotter”?… By adding pastel tones to them! They look great worn in the day with a cute little knitted number or sporty jacket. For the night time go all out and pair with sexy sheer tops in matching shades.
If you like to stitch with Leather on your top half and your looking for an extra special leather jacket then vintage is the right way to go, the 80’s did leather sooooo well and if your lucky you can find some around today. Whatever way you decide to go be it, 80’s, pastel or skirt you will be going in the right direction.

How do you wear your Leather?=D

I can be called Boxed, Inverted or Knife….. What am I?

Yes you got, or did you ;), I am talking about Pleats, the Spring Summer trend thats not going away! From Box, Inverted or Knife style pleats they are everywhere and in any shade from neon to pastel to printed designs. If you haven’t fallen for them already, whats wrong with you?;), then its about time to. They are great for wearing day or night and look effortlessly stylish, wear with flats, heels or even wellies at this summers festival! Here are a selection of my favs and ideas on how to style them.
So are you convinced yet?

How to do Jumpers in style

The Jumper/ Sweatshirt is one of the wardrobe heros that doesn’t get its full dues. I love wearing a, slightly scuffy, jumper with a pretty femine dress or skirt. Its how you wear it that makes you stand-out, and its the perfect outfit for the British Spring and sadly, sometimes, Summer.
For a truely unique look mix vintage, high street and if you can afford it designer. The D&G skirt costs over £7000!! Crazy.

Style Q & A Olympics

So if your lucky enough to be going to the London Olympics this year, your probably rich and powerful and have your own live-in stylist so won’t be needing to know what to wear, however if your a mere mortal, like myself, and have entered a competition to win tickets to the Olympics then here’s what you should be wearing. Sporty fashion is a very big trend this Spring Summer so just try it out anyway! Enjoy.

Perky Pastels- Style Q&A

As we are all aware pastels are the “cool” colours for Spring Summer 2012. Were going to show you how you can add them subtle into your outfits.

Style Q&A

With an overwhelming amount of responses to our tweet last week, about any styling dilemmas and question you might have, we have selected the 2 most frequently asked questions.

So this week we were asked “Smart Casual….. What does that mean!”
This is a term that I particular hate! its almost a double negative! It basically mean relaxed smarter wear, so I see that as denim!.

The next question was “I love fun fur but I don’t know how to wear it?”
Wear it as a coat, Gillet (or as my boyfriend likes to say waistcoat!), scarf or even on boots. Fun Fur also goes great with Leather so layer it up, it is Winter after all!

If you have a style Q&A for next week tweet us @fashionmould or email!
