Escapism…. The Routeburn…

Three days two nights of hiking through the fiord lands of New Zealand’s South Island. Caring all of our food and camping equipment on our back whilst covering a distance of 26miles…. Sound like fun? Yep I agree with you it was AMAZING! The scenery was to die for and we were really lucky as it only rained slightly overnight, when we were safely snuggled up in Terry the tent and our sleeping bags. We started the hike from the Divide end and walked back towards Queenstown, where we got a lift back into town with some lovely Americans we meet on the hike.
As I said we camped the 1st camp site was at Lake Mackenzie and the second was above, when the sun set you could see the snow covered mountain tops illuminated by the stars, Antony reckons he saw a meteorite but as we were sat in the tent and he was in the door way I did get to see it. The walk was amazing and it’s defiantly worth the hard work.
To celebrate we treated ourselves to another night of camping when we got back to Queens Town and a night on the tiles =D.
God Bless Terry (The Tent)
This lace top is backpacker friendly as it will take up minimal space and it won’t crease. It will also look good with jeans, shorts or a skirt… Perfect!

Escapism- Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia Siem Reap, the temple above is Bayon. The temple consist of hundreds of faces of King Jayavarmam VII who built the temple so that he was always looking down and watching over his people. The faces are in surprisingly good condition seeing it was constructed in the late 12th to early 13th century.
There are many different temples that you can go and see, you can either buy a 1 day, 3 day or 1 week pass, from memory prices started from $26 for a day to $40 for a 3 day pass, they are likely to increase every year.

Above and below photos are taken at Ta Prohm where the forest are is trying to reclaim back its space. The tree roots (above) ahave literally grown over the temple, the tree roots are now holding up the temple. This is also where Lara Croft was filmed.

Angkor Wat above at sunrise.
The weather was hot and humid the best outfits to wear for a day sight seeing is loose fitting cotton clothing.
